BABYCAKES=BEST COOKBOOK PROMO EVER-ERIN McKENNA

I have a huge sweet tooth, just ask anyone that knows me well. Cupakes, cookies, cakes, candies, any sweet treat will do the trick. BabyCakes is the vegan bakery in New York that I go to as much as another full-on sugary, super sweet oasis. The owner, Erin McKenna is finally coming out with a BabyCakes cookbook and made a fun video promoting it. Watch it with mouthwatering delight. Also, added an interview about the cookbook too. FRENCH ELLE BEAUTIES AU NATURALE SANS FARDS

With so much over the top and obvious retouching happening in magazines, French Elle decided to go back to natural beauty. They photographed a variety of European celebrities for their covers, all without make-up and without any retouching. Sans Fards and Sans Retouche. The images are fresh and beautiful and makes us think how often retouching is used... everywhere basically, and secondly, who here in the states would ever do a cover like this and with whom? Hmmmmm..... doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

MARIO SORRENTI FOR SELF SERVICE MAGAZINE

Here's a beautiful video for Self Service magazine of Mario Sorrenti photographing model Malgosia. It's styled by the incredible, Camilla Nickerson.

LA ROUX LIVE at THE ROXY

Throughout her performance at the Roxy, Elly Jackson the vocalist behind the duo, La Roux, showed us what the future of music is all about for the upcoming year. She opened with the smash, "In For The Kill," which was a wise choice because the show started past its scheduled time. Her vocals were amazingly clear and she sounded exactly like she does on the CD. Her style and manner on stage makes her even more likable and definitely, La Roux is someone to keep your eyes on now and for the future. She performed about 7 songs that ranged from "Quicksand" to "I'm Not Your Toy" to one of our favorites, "Bulletproof," which will be the next single and video. They'll be making their way back stateside during the summer and they are a must see.

MAY'S COVER FOR AMERICAN VOGUE

Here it is...after all the rumblings of who will and will not be on the cover, it's finally arrived.
The cover is amazing and full of some of our favorite models. We love the tight cover girl face ensemble...it gives it a modern feel to the mag that has been out of sorts according to a few.
Liya Kebbe, Natalia Vodianova and Anna Jagodzinska are the main cover girls and when you open the other half of the cover it reveals Isabeli Fontana, Jourdan Dunn, Raquel Zimmerman, Lara Stone, Caroline Trentini and finally, Natasha Poly. Even though it's American Vogue, none of the cover girls are American...hmmm... what about Chanel Iman or Karlie Kloss? The cover was shot by Steven Meisel who gave the girls a fresh and modern look. Finally, American Vogue is back on track.

PEACHES "TRICK OR TREAT"

Here's another track from Peaches upcoming CD, "I Feel Cream," which will be released on May 4th. It's called "Trick or Treat."

KIM CARNES BETTE DAVIS EYES

We've always liked this song and we were happy when we heard it in the beginning of the documentary, "Valentinto: The Last Emperor." Also, with the all that '80's fashion coming back, we thought we give you some more fashion inspiration-sunglasses et al. You can be inspired by some of those dance moves too.

PEACHES "TALK TO ME"

It finally has arrived... the new video from Peaches-"Talk To Me."

AMANDA BLANK-GIMME MORE REDUX

The '80's are back live and well so, that means female rappers are making their way into the forefront. We have Santogold, Rye Rye and Amanda Blank. Amanda's CD doesn't come out until July entitled, "I Love You." In the meantime, she's been doing collabos with musicians like Yuksek and Santogold. We have her remix of "Gimme More." Also, check out the song "Might Like You Better." Move past the GAGA and go for real raw talent without all the fluff.

ESSER "LET'S WORK IT OUT"

Last Fall, we posted Esser and his "I Love You" video. The English boy has a new song and video out called "Let's Work It Out," and it's Esseresque all the way. The song is quite good, as well as, the remixes (which we'll post later) and the video has his cool quirky charm in overdrive.

TIGA "SHOES

Here's Tiga's latest song and video, "Shoes."
It's all TIGA!

THE ROPES "BE MY GUN"

Yes, and yet, another duo but this sound is not so electro pop but has a familiar sound -dare I say Courtney Love a la early Hole. It's been 15 years since Kurt Cobain's death and grunge is seeping back into the culture, The Ropes may just be the one to reignite it all with this track, "Be My Gun."

THE HUNDRED IN THE HANDS-DRESSED IN DRESDEN

Brooklyn duo, The Hundred in the Hands, are in the beginning stages of their sound in music and it's off to a good start.

The Brooklyn trio, Chairlift, have the MGMT vibe. The video is something I'm sure you haven't seen before in other videos. It's watercolors galore.

Fever Ray 'When I Grow Up'

Fever Ray is Karin Andersson, half of The Knife. Her voice is unique and haunting and her videos are so visual you can't help but to watch them a few times to catch all that you missed the first go around.

SAY IT ISN'T SO MARC...

There have been rumblings in the streets of fashion that Anne Hathaway may be Marc Jacobs newest muse. That'll mean, she'll be attending events with him and can very well be the star of his ad campaigns. Marc, please, say it isn't so..... We just don't get the draw of her. We liked her in "Devil Wears Prada," but honestly that was due to the cast around her in the film. Marc go for a model as your newest muse. Choose someone, anyone with an interesting look and personal flair. With the way the economy is going, you may feel the need to go super-uber hollywoody actressy, but please keep your wits about yourself and just don't do it.

ELIZA CUMMINS-THE MANY FACES

British girl, Eliza Cummins, is giving it to the fashion world in her own way. She's more than apt at changing her look and she's becoming one of the girls who is able to transform herself quite effortlessly. Here are a few of her most recent mag covers, Vogue Italia is this April's cover. We want more!

THE VIRGINS "RICH GIRLS" LIVE IN PARIS!

Yes! We love them too! The NYC band, "The Virgins" were just in Paris so we thought we post their live performance as well as the vid for "Rich Girls." The Virgins Rich Girls @ Le Regine from Trincamp Prod on Vimeo.

URBAN OUTFITTERS-ANTHROPOLOGIE-FREE PEOPLE RICHARD HAYNE

With the way the economy is going, people are more aware of "thrifty" shopping. Stores like Wal-mart are seeing their sales increase due to their lower price points even though most of the merchandise is from outside of the U.S. Even though Americans are losing their jobs to countries overseas they still continue to spend their money at these stores that don't support products made in the states. Urban Outfitters is known for their lower price point merchandise as well as their "coolness" factor along with sister companies, Free People and Anthropologie. Richard Hayne is the CEO and owner of these companies and keeps a low profile due to his conservative politics. He's a known supporter of former Republican senator, Rick Santorum, and known to be "Cheneyesque" behind closed doors. So, as money gets tighter and we are more aware of what, how, and where we spend our hard earned money, let's all speak with our dollars by spending it with companies that coincide with who we are as a people and as a community. It may be easier to shop at one of these stores due to their easy access but take the extra time to think before you spend.

TOPSHOP TOPMAN BELIEVE ThE HYPE?

Finally after all the delays and endless articles about Topshop/Topman opening in NY ... finally it's happened. With lines around the block in excess of three hours, is it really worth the wait and the time? Will it really have a fresh take on clothing and help sagging retail sales or will it be a hot commodity for the first few months and then slowly level out? From what we've seen thus far...the hype is what it is... hype.
