MARC JACOBS POSES NUDE

In the upcoming issue of Harper's Bazaar, Terry Richardson photographed a nude, Marc Jacobs. Jacobs for Louis Vuitton designed a new line of accessories and ready-to-wear paying homage to the late designer Stephen Sprouse. Sprouse collaborated with Jacobs and LV back in 2001. It's the January issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Magazines have seen their ad pages become less in 2008 causing lay-offs, cut-backs and magazines closing entirely.  Here comes word that alpha media who owns Maxim and Blender are in big trouble financially. Men's magazines seem to be the target of most of the turmoil. WWD's brother DNR closed shop. Can Tom Cruise save Details? There are whispers that Details may be next in line. We know that Oprah's O at Home was another goner and perhaps Domino is next. 

TWILIGHT AUTHOR STEPHENIE MEYER MORMON

With the huge boxoffice success of "Twilight," it grossed over $70M domestically, this past weekend, not only is Stephenie Meyer making tons of money so is the Mormon church. Stephenie Meyer, described as the "the Mormon Anne Rice," does what any good Mormon does which is called tithing. Tithing is a requirement in the Mormon religion and it's usually 10% of their earnings. So, with all the talk about the Mormon church being a huge supporter of Prop 8, it seems like "Twilight" and Stephanie Meyer are contributors as well.

TOM FORD BEGINS FILMING

Tom Ford's dream is coming true. Making movies. He's always wanted to become a film maker and finally he started filming, "A Single Man." It's based on the 1964 novel by Christopher Isherwood. It stars Julianne Moore, Colin Firth, and Matthew Goode.  It's set for a 2009 release. It'll be interesting to see if Tom is able to make the transition into film, as well, as to see if his visual sensibility over shadows the story.

MARC JACOBS' CO. PAYS 1 MILLION FOR BRIBERY SCANDAL

Guess this is the real reason why Marc Jacobs isn't having his annual Holiday bash. His company settled for 1 million dollars in the Armory bribery scandal.  He continually had his fashion shows at the Armory and it was discovered that his company was paying off the superintendent in gifts and in cash.

WHITE KNOT THE NEW ACCESSORY FOR MARRIAGE EQUAL RIGHTS

Here comes another ribbon for another cause...the white knot symbolizes marriage's equal rights for all. Some argue why a white knot..why not? most brides wear white on their wedding day no matter what you're ethnic background is-let's not over anaylze the choice but support the cause.

With all the buzz being about lay-offs and bail outs, leave it to Madonna not to be affected. NYP is reporting that she is getting paid 10 million dollars to be in the new Louis Vuitton campaign. Come on now with all the talk of recession and holiday parties being canceled, like Marc Jacobs, shouldn't both Madonna and Louis Vuitton who don't need the $$$, put it to good use and we're not talking about kabbalah either.

GQ presented its annual multiple cover of its Men Of the Year. This year features Michael Phelps, Jon Hamm, Leonardo DiCaprio, and President-Elect Barack Obama.  Hmmmm... I wonder which will sell the best? Toss up between Barack Obama and Michael Phelps, my guess.

Yes,  New York Fashion Week is behind us and a new one is on the horizon. For those of you who are going through withdrawl no need to cry, here comes New York Chocolate Fashion Weekend.

That's right!!! Clothes made out chocolate where designers are paired up with chocolatiers to create a fashion forward show. This year's theme was superheroes. It's pure fun and showcases chocolate like you've never seen or be worn right before your eyes.

ALEXANDER WANG CFDA/VOGUE FASHION FUND AWARD RECIPIENT

Alexander Wang was awarded as the fifth CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund recipient. Along with the coveted title, he receives $200,000 as well as a year's worth of mentoring. The runners-up were both Vena Cava and Albertus Quartus who each receive $50,000  as well as business mentor.

While Barack Obama didn't say much in the highly rated 60 minutes interview, word is now leaking the Hillary Clinton will accept the position with the new administration. She will take over the post vacated by Condoleezza Rice.

Huh? you might ask....well, let's go back in time when Garth Brooks could do no wrong, in certain circles of course. Garth was at the height of his career and wanted to branch out and created an alter ego named Chris Gaines.  He also wanted to make a film using this persona but the public didn't respond well to the album. The sales were lackluster and the film idea never came to be more than just that...an idea. Though this album did garner his first and only pop top 40 hit.

Now comes, Beyonce with her alter ego, Sasha Fierce. Granted in the past she spoke about her alter ego helping her perform live on stage, but from all the press pictures she looks like a Rhianna copycat without Rhianna's short hair. It seems like Beyonce is feeling Rhinna's heat and success. Case in point, Gareth Pugh, an independent designer that Rhianna help put on the map. Now Beyonce has started to wear his designs and it just doesn't seem to fit her as a person or as an alter ego. Perhaps, Beyonce should do what she does best...Beyonce and keep Sasha Fierce for the stage and to herself.
