Mario Ybarrra, Jr, an artist from Los Angeles had his first New York show last night at
Lehmann Maupin LES. It's a multi-media installation titled "The Black Squirrel Society." Upstairs, there was a wooden toss game as well as a video of the "Black Squirrel Society" dancers doing their squirrel dance. Downstairs, while music was being played that was mixed specifically for the show, there were a variety of black squirrel action figures and paintings showing them in their different modes of life. It's a fun, summer show and worth seeing. June 24- August 8
