Do black women wear perfume? A friend asked me that question recently. You'll never know when you're looking at the perfume/beauty ad campaigns. There have only been a handful of black models who helm those ads. There's Liya with Lancome, Beyonce for Emporio Armani, and as well as some models for Chanel's Allure. Arlenis Sosa may be the new face for Lancome and then there's Tom Ford's White Patchouli with Erykah Badu. In the 70's there was the famous Charlie perfume ads too. It's funny how its 2008 and there hasn't been that many black models/spokespersons being the face for beauty and perfume ads. Let's see if there'll be a change in the next couple of years.
